Community Spotlight Update

In September 2022 Monument held a BBQ fundraiser to help American Legion Hall Post 33 raise funds to repair their roof. Although the fundraiser was a success, it was not enough to cover the costs of replacing the roof.

Monument stayed in touch with the Post, and continued to look for ways to help. With material shortages becoming a thing of the past, we were able to reach out to our roofing suppliers in February to see if they could help by reducing the price on materials. We were thrilled when Elite Roofing Supply got back with us and said they would cover the supplies 100%!

With additional discounts from Houston Foam, and other local equipment rental companies, we were able to get these veterans their new roof at no cost to them!

With the hurdle of a new roof overcome, the Post is still in need of a new HVAC unit for their banquet hall. To help, Monument and the Post are working together to put on a second fundraiser.

Join us April 15th at the Post from 10-2pm to celebrate the completion of the new roof, and to raise funds for the a new HVAC unit for the banquet room.

We will have 40 vendors selling anything from yard art to pocket knives to Mary Kay. Monument will once again bring out the BBQ pit and will be serving sausage, chips, and a drink for $5. All proceeds from the BBQ sales will benefit the Posts HVAC fund.
