Tips for Finding a Reliable Contractor

Verify the Company Has Insurance

Any contractor that you hire should have insurance! This covers both you and the contractor if anything were to go wrong. Ask for a copy of their insurance certificate. If they can not provide one, you’re best bet is to pass on that contractor.

Consider the Length of Time They Have Been In Business

Many individuals and companies find out much to late that the contractor that they hired was a “fly by night” company. These types of companies come in to an area that has been hit hard by some kind of natural disaster, often do a shotty job on workmanship, and then disappear leaving the homeowner or business to deal with the consequences.

Unfortunately with Covid companies that had not been in business long lost the fight to stay afloat. Monument has come across situations where business owners were left to deal with new roofs that leak, and voided warranties due to poor workmanship from companies that are no longer in business.

Be Aware of Fake Reviews
